UPSSSC PET 2025 Selection Process
1. Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) – Written Exam 📝
- ✅ Format: 100 objective multiple-choice questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration, offline OMR‑based.
- ✅ Pattern: Includes Indian History, Geography, Economy, Constitution & Public Admin, General Science, Arithmetic, Hindi & English, Reasoning, Current Affairs, comprehension/data interpretation etc.
- ✅ Scoring: +1 per correct answer; –0.25 for incorrect responses.
- ✅ Normalization: If conducted in multiple shifts, scores are normalized to ensure fairness
2. Shortlisting for Main Exams
- Candidates who meet the qualifying marks (as determined in the PET) become eligible to apply for Group B/C main exams conducted by UPSSSC for various posts.
- PET score acts as a screening gateway, not a final selection—applicants still need to appear and qualify in the mains specific to each post
3. Main Exam (Post-Specific)
- For each targeted Group B/C post (e.g., Lekhpal, Junior Assistant, VDO, X-ray Technician), there is a separate main exam with its own syllabus, duration, and marking scheme as set by UPSSSC
4. Interview / Skill Test (If Applicable)
- Depending on the post, shortlisted candidates may undergo one or more skill tests or interviews.
- Example: Typing test for Junior Assistant, stenography for Stenographer, or medical/physical assessment for technical/health-related roles
5. Document Verification (DV)
- Candidates clearing mains (and any skill test) are required to attend Document Verification, where educational, caste/reservation, disability, domicile, etc., certificates are verified. Bring original and photocopies
UPSSSC PET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who qualify for the UPSSSC PET Exam can appear for the Mains Exam for Group B & C posts.
